Brian Long and his brother Allen Long have practiced doing a dry January for several years as a way of starting the new year. This year Pat Gallagher of PGT Trucking decided he wanted to join Brian and Allen in this traditional challenge. Brian and his fellow local C-suite counterparts knew this wouldn’t be a easy go for the easily likeable and revered CEO that started and has grown his nationally know trucking company over 30 years ago in Beaver county. To make the challenge even more interesting wagers started being made that Pat would probably fail in this challenge, so Brian decided to make the wagers a little more official and said all the wagers would go to the Light of Light Ministries located locally on the North Side of Pittsburgh. The Light of Life ministry transforms lives through the love of Christ by providing food, shelter, and hope to men, women, and children experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction to restore them as healthy members of our community.

Who would of imagined that this small one month challenge would have now blossomed to become a full fledged CEO challenge that was able to raise over $32,000 in one month with all proceeds given directly to the Light of Light ministries. At the conclusion of the one month Pat Gallagher had remained diligent and easily accomplished the mission of winning the Seubert’s and PGT Trucking Dry January challenge that was created by Brian long. This is just one example how something as simple as trying to better yourself can lead to benefiting so many others. Take a look the the video below to see how we celebrated this event with Pat Gallagher.
